Therefore remind! by thy Lord's blessing thou art not a soothsayer neither possessed. 29 Or do they say:- "A Poet! we await for him some calamity (hatched) by Time!" 30 Say (O Muhammad SAW to them): "Wait! I am with you, among the waiters!" 31 Is this what their senses tell them, or are they a rebellious people? 32 Or do they say: "He himself has composed this [message]"? Nay, but they are not willing to believe! 33 (If they are truthful in this), then let them produce a discourse of similar splendour. 34 Have they not been created from some source, or are they themselves the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and earth? Nay, but they have not sure faith. 36 Or have they the treasures of your Lord with them? Or have they been set in absolute authority? 37 Or have they a stairway [into the heaven] upon which they listen? Then let their listener produce a clear authority. 38 Or has He (Allah) only daughters and you have sons? 39 Or askest thou them for a wage, and so they are weighed down with debt? 40 Or possess they the Unseen so that they can write (it) down? 41 Or seek they to ensnare (the messenger)? But those who disbelieve, they are the ensnared! 42 Or, do they have a god, other than Allah? Exaltations to Allah above that which they associate! 43 Even if they were to see a part of the heavens falling down upon them, they would say, "It is only dense cloud". 44 So leave them till they encounter their Day in which they shall be thunderstruck. 45 A day in which their guile will naught avail them, nor will they be helped. 46 And there surely awaits the evildoers a chastisement beyond even that, but most of them know it not. 47 And be thou patient under the judgment of thy Lord; surely thou art before Our eyes. And proclaim the praise of thy Lord when thou arisest, 48 And glorify Him in the night and when the stars begin to wane. 49
