I told them, "Messengers, eat from the pure things and act righteously; I know all that you do. 51 And verily! This your religion (of Islamic Monotheism) is one religion, and I am your Lord, so keep your duty to Me. 52 But they cut off their religion among themselves into sects, each part rejoicing in that which is with them. 53 But leave them in their confused ignorance for a time. 54 Do they think that We enlarge them in wealth and children, 55 We would hasten them on in every good? Nay, they do not understand. 56 Indeed, they who are apprehensive from fear of their Lord 57 who have full faith in the Signs of their Lord; 58 who associate none with their Lord in His Divinity, 59 And those who give that which they give with hearts afraid because they are about to return unto their Lord, 60 These hasten to good things and they are foremost in (attaining) them. 61 And We do not burden any soul beyond its capacity, and with Us is a Book* that speaks the truth, and they will not be wronged. (* The preserved tablet or the record of one’s deeds.) 62 But their hearts are in confused ignorance of this; and there are, besides that, deeds of theirs, which they will (continue) to do,- 63 Until when We seize their affluent ones with punishment, at once they are crying [to Allah] for help. 64 Implore not today; verily ye from Us are not to be succoured. 65 My verses had already been recited to you, but you were turning back on your heels 66 In arrogance; talking nonsense about the Quran, and left him like one telling fables by night. 67 Have they not pondered the Word, or hath that come unto them which came not unto their fathers of old? 68 Or is it that they were unaware of their Messenger and were therefore repelled by him for he was a stranger to them? 69 Or do they say, "He is possessed"? Nay, he has brought them the Truth, but most of them hate the Truth. 70 But if the truth were in accord with their own likes and dislikes, the heavens and the earth would surely have fallen into ruin, and all that lives in them [would long ago have perished]! Nay, [in this divine writ] We have conveyed unto them all that they ought to bear in mind: and from this their reminder they [heedlessly] turn away! 71 Or do you, [O Muhammad], ask them for payment? But the reward of your Lord is best, and He is the best of providers. 72 Assuredly thou art calling them to a straight path; 73 But those who do not believe in the Hereafter have indeed deviated from that path. 74 ۞ If We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering in distraction to and fro. 75 We inflicted Punishment on them, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor do they submissively entreat (Him)!- 76 until, when We open against them a door of terrible chastisement, lo, they are sore confounded at it. 77
