When your Lord called upon Moses: "Go to the wicked people, 10 The folk of Pharaoh. Will they not ward off (evil)? 11 He said: "My Lord! Verily, I fear that they will belie me, 12 And I shall be embarrassed, and my tongue will not speak plainly, therefor send for Aaron (to help me). 13 They have charged me [with a crime] for which I am afraid they will kill me." 14 Said He, 'No indeed; but go, both of you, with Our signs, and We assuredly shall be with you, listening. 15 So go you to Pharaoh, and say, "Verily, I am the Messenger of the Lord of all Being; 16 Then send with us the children of Israel. 17 Fir'awn said: brought we not thee up amongst us as a child? And thou tarriedst amongst us for many years of thy life? 18 and you did the deed which you did. You are certainly ungrateful." 19 Moses replied: "I committed that act erringly. 20 Then I fled for fear of you. Then my Lord bestowed wisdom and authority on me and made me one of the Messengers. 21 And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 Said Pharaoh, "And what is the Lord of the worlds?" 23 (Moses) said: "The Lord and Cherisher of the heavens and the earth, and all between,- if ye want to be quite sure." 24 Said Firaun to those around him, “Are you not listening with attention?” 25 (Moses) said: "Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers from the beginning!" 26 (Pharaoh) said: Lo! your messenger who hath been sent unto you is indeed a madman! 27 Moses continued: "(He is) the Lord of the east and the west, and all between them. If you only had any understanding!" 28 Fir'awn said: if thou wilt take a god other than me, I shall surely place thee among the prisoners. 29 'What, even if I brought you something clear' said he (Moses). 30 He (Pharaoh) replied: 'Show us your sign, if you are of the truthful' 31 So Moses threw down his staff and suddenly it appeared as a serpent, plainly visible. 32 and he drew his hand (out of his armpit) and lo! it had become a shining object to the beholders. 33
