Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Ha Mim. 1 By the Clear Book; 2 behold, We have made it an Arabic Koran; haply you will understand; 3 It is in the Origin of the Book with Us, sublime and wise. 4 Shall We turn away the Remembrance from you because you are a sinful nation? 5 How many a prophet did We send among the men of old! 6 Yet never did a Prophet come to them but they mocked him. 7 Wherefore We destroyed peoples mightier than these in prowess; and there hath gone forth the example of the ancients. 8 And if thou (Muhammad) ask them: Who created the heavens and the earth, they will surely answer: The Mighty, the Knower created them; 9 He it is who has made the earth a cradle for you, and has provided for you ways [of livelihood] thereon, so that you might follow the right path. 10 And Who sendeth down from the heaven water in measure; then We quicken a dead land therewith: even so ye shall be brought forth. 11 And, (it is He) who has created all the pairs and appointed for you ships and the cattle on which you ride, 12 That ye may mount upon their backs, and may remember your Lord's favour when ye mount thereon, and may say: Glorified be He Who hath subdued these unto us, and we were not capable (of subduing them); 13 And surely to our Lord we must return. 14 Yet they assign to Him some of His own (created) worshipers! Clearly, the human is unthankful. 15
