Then, when the Messengers (the angels) came unto the family of Lout (Lot). 61 He said: "Verily! You are people unknown to me." 62 They said, "But we have come to you with that about which they were disputing, 63 And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful. 64 "Then travel by night with thy household, when a portion of the night (yet remains), and do thou bring up the rear: let no one amongst you look back, but pass on whither ye are ordered." 65 And We made known this decree to him, that the root of those (sinners) was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 He said, “These are my guests do not dishonour me.” 68 "And fear Allah and disgrace me not." 69 They said; Have we not forbidden you from (entertaining) anyone? 70 He said, "Here are my daughters, if you must act in this way." 71 By your life! they were blindly wandering on in their intoxication. 72 So the shriek seized them at sunrise. 73 We turned the town upside-down and showered on them lumps of baked clay. 74 Surely, in that there are signs for those who contemplate. 75 surely it is on a way yet remaining; 76 Lo! therein is indeed a portent for believers. 77 And the dwellers of the wood surely were wrong-doers. 78 So we took vengeance on them; and lo! they both are on a high-road plain to see. 79

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
