'O Messengers, eat of the good things and do righteousness; surely I know the things you do. 51 And verily, this community of yours is one single community, since I am the Sustainer of you all: remain, then, conscious of Me! 52 But the people divided their religion among them into sects - each faction, in what it has, rejoicing. 53 So leave thou them in their perplexity for a time. 54 Deem they that in the wealth and sons wherewith We enlarge them. 55 We are hastening to them of good things? Nay, they do not perceive. 56 Indeed, they who are apprehensive from fear of their Lord 57 Those who believe in the Signs of their Lord; 58 who consider nothing equal to their Lord, 59 And those who give what they give (in alms) while their hearts are full of fear that to their Lord they must return, 60 it is these who hasten to do good works and vie in so doing with one another. 61 And We charge no soul except [with that within] its capacity, and with Us is a record which speaks with truth; and they will not be wronged. 62 But their hearts are covered with confusion over this, and they have [evil] deeds besides disbelief which they are doing, 63 But then when We seize the affluent among them, they will cry out for help. 64 "Put a stop to your groaning now! Surely no help shall be provided to you from Us. 65 My revelations were recited unto you, but ye used to turn back on your heels, 66 in arrogance, as if you were abandoning a story-teller. 67 Did they never ponder over this Word (of God)? Or has he (to wit, the Messenger) brought something the like of which did not come to their forefathers of yore? 68 Or is it that they did not recognise their Noble Messenger, therefore they consider him alien? 69 Or do they say, 'He is bedevilled'? Nay, he has brought them the truth, but most of them are averse from the truth. 70 But if the Truth had followed their inclinations, the heavens and the earth and whoever is in them would have been ruined. Rather, We have brought them their message, but they, from their message, are turning away. 71 Or are you asking them for any reward? But the reward of your Lord is the best, for He is the Best of Providers, 72 You are surely calling them to the right path. 73 but those who disbelieve in the Everlasting Life deviate from the Path. 74 ۞ Even if We were to grant them mercy and rescue them from hardship, they would still blindly persist in their rebellion. 75 And assuredly We took hold of them with the torment, yet they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor did they entreat. 76 Until when We have opened before them a door of severe punishment, immediately they will be therein in despair. 77
