Al-Furqaan 3 of 6
۞ Say those who look not to encounter Us, 'Why have the angels not been sent down on us, or why see we not our Lord?' Waxed proud they have within them, and become greatly disdainful. 21 On the Day they will see the angels, no glad tidings will there be for the Mujrimun (criminals, disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, etc.) that day. And they (angels) will say: "All kinds of glad tidings are forbidden for you," [None will be allowed to enter Paradise except the one who said: La ilaha ill-Allah, "(none has the right to be worshipped but Allah) and acted practically on its legal orders and obligations]. 22 And We shall set upon that which they worked, and shall make it as dust wind-scattered. 23 The dwellers of Paradise (i.e. those who deserved it through their Faith and righteousness) will, on that Day, have the best abode, and have the fairest of places for repose. 24 A day when the heaven with the clouds will be rent asunder and the angels will be sent down, a grand descent. 25 the Kingdom that day, the true Kingdom, shall belong to the All-merciful and it shall be a day harsh for the unbelievers. 26 The sinner will then bite his hand and say: "Would that I had taken the road with the Prophet. 27 O, woe to me! Would that I had not chosen so and so for a friend! 28 He verily led me astray from the Reminder after it had reached me. Satan was ever man's deserter in the hour of need. 29 The Messenger says, 'O my Lord, behold, my people have taken this Koran as a thing to be shunned.' 30 And this is how We had appointed guilty people as enemies to every Prophet; and Allah is Sufficient, to guide and to aid. 31 And the disbelievers say, “Why was the Qur’an not sent down to him all at once?” This is how We sent it in stages, in order to strengthen your heart with it and We read it slowly, in stages. 32 There is not an example they advance to which We do not give you a right answer and a better explanation. 33 Those who will be dragged headlong into Hell shall have an evil place to dwell in, for they have strayed far from the right path. 34
