And remember Our bondman Ayyub (Job); when he cried out* to his Lord, “The devil has struck me with hardship and pain.” (After seven years of patience.) 41 'Stamp thy foot! This is a laving-place cool, and a drink.' 42 And We bestowed upon him new offspring, doubling their number as an act of grace from Us, and as a reminder unto all who are endowed with insight. 43 "Take a handful of herbs," (We said to him), and apply and rub them, and do not make a mistake." We found him patient in adversity, an excellent devotee, always turning in repentance. 44 And remember Our servants -- Abraham, Isaac and Jacob -- they were endowed with great strength and vision. 45 Lo! We purified them with a pure thought, remembrance of the Home (of the Hereafter). 46 and in Our sight they are of the chosen, the excellent. 47 And remember Ismail and Al-Yasha and Zulkifl; and they were all of the best. 48 This is a Message (of admonition): and verily, for the righteous, is a beautiful Place of (Final) Return,- 49 the Gardens of eternity with gates thrown wide open to them. 50 Therein they will recline; therein they will call for fruits in abundance and drinks; 51 ۞ and with them maidens restraining their glances of equal age. 52 'This is what you are promised on the Day of Recompense, 53 this is Our unending provision' 54 But the arrogant will have the worst return: 55 hell will they have to endure - and how vile a resting-place! 56 All this; so let them taste it - boiling water and pus, 57 And other (punishment) of the same kind-- of various sorts. 58 This is a troop entering with you (in Hell), no welcome for them! Verily, they shall burn in the Fire! 59 But they will say: 'No, it is you that has no welcome. It was you who brought it upon us, an evil place' 60 They say, 'Our Lord, whoso forwarded this for us, give him a double chastisement in the Fire!' 61 They will say to one another: “But why do we not see those whom we considered him among the wicked? 62 Was it that we (only) took them in scorn, or have our eyes (now) turned aside from them? 63 Verily all this is true. This is how the inmates of the Fire will dispute among themselves. 64
