We swear that We have created the human being and We know what his soul whispers to him. We are closer to him than even his jugular vein. 16 Behold, two (guardian angels) appointed to learn (his doings) learn (and noted them), one sitting on the right and one on the left. 17 Not a word does he utter but there is a sentinel by him, ready (to note it). 18 And the stupor of death will come in truth: this is that which thou hast been shunning. 19 And the Trumpet was blown; “This is the Day of the promised punishment.” 20 Every soul will be accompanied (by an angel) behind him and another as a witness. 21 “You were indeed neglectful of this, so We have removed the veil for you, and your eyesight is sharp this day.” 22 And his Companion will say: "Here is (his Record) ready with me!" 23 (They will be told,) "Throw into hell every persistent disbelievers, 24 "Who forbade what was good, transgressed all bounds, cast doubts and suspicions; 25 Who made [as equal] with Allah another deity; then throw him into the severe punishment." 26 ۞ His satanic companion will say, "Our Lord, I did not mislead him, but he himself went astray". 27 Allah will say: wrangle not in My presence, and I had already proferred unto you the threat. 28 “With Me, the decree does not change, and nor do I oppress the bondmen.” 29
