The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 Abasing exalting. 3 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken 4 and the mountains are shattered into [countless] shards, 5 Becoming dust scattered abroad, 6 On that day, you (mankind) will be divided into three groups: 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 Then those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) will be those of the left hand! 9 And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race: 10 These will be those nearest to Allah. 11 They are in Gardens of peace. 12 A throng of the ancients, 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 on lavish couches 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Youths of never-ending bloom will pass round to them 17 Carrying bowls and pitchers – and cups filled with wine flowing before them. 18 No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication: 19 And with fruits, any that they may select: 20 And the flesh of fowl such as they desire. 21 And (there are) fair ones with wide, lovely eyes, 22 The like of the hidden pearls: 23 The reward for what they did. 24 There hear they no vain speaking nor recrimination 25 Only a saying: "Peace, peace." 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 (will be) among thornless Lote trees. 28 and banana trees, 29 And shade extended 30 and outpoured waters, 31 and an abundance of fruits, 32 never-ending and unrestricted, 33 They shall be on upraised couches, 34 Indeed We formed them (the houris and all believing women), 35 And made them virgins, 36 loving and of equal age. 37 For those on the right. 38
