Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 And the moon darkens 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
