Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 till a known term decreed? 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
