The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 and the night that falls, 17 The rising dawn, 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
