The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
READ in the name of thy Sustainer, who has created 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Recite: and your Lord is Most Generous, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay! man is most surely inordinate, 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Hast thou seen if he relieth on the guidance (of Allah) 11 and enjoins piety? 12 Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees everything? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 Then, let him call his assembly, 17 We too would summon the braves of the army. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
Almighty Allah's Truth.
