And recite to them the tiding of Abraham 69 When he said unto his father and his folk: What worship ye? 70 They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted." 71 He said, “Do they hear you when you call?” 72 Or do they benefit you, or do you harm?" 73 They said, "No, but our fathers worshipped them." 74 He said: See now that which ye worship, 75 you and your forefathers -- 76 they are all my enemies, not so the Lord of the Universe, 77 Who hath created me, and He guideth me. 78 And Who feedeth me and watereth me. 79 He who cures me when I am ill; 80 "And Who will cause me to die, and then will bring me to life (again); 81 It is He whom I expect to forgive my sins on the Day of Judgment. 82 My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 And appoint for me an honourable mention among the posterity 84 And put me among the inheritors of Paradise. 85 And forgive my father. Lo! he is of those who err. 86 and disgrace me not on the Day when people will be raised to life, 87 on the Day of Judgment when neither wealth nor children will be of any benefit 88 But to him who comes to God with a tranquil heart." 89 "To the righteous, the Garden will be brought near, 90 and the Fire will be uncovered for those who strayed, 91 and they will be asked: "Where are the gods that you worshipped 92 "Instead of Allah? Can they help you or (even) help themselves?" 93 They will then be thrown into Hell with those who had gone astray 94 And the hosts of Iblis, together. 95 They shall say, as they dispute there one with another, 96 "By God, we were plainly in error 97 In equating you with the Lord of all the worlds; 98 No one but the sinners led us astray. 99 Now we have none to intercede for us, 100 and no sincere friend. 101 If only we could return and be among the believers!" 102 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 103 surely, your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 104
