The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by (the angels) who stand in ranks, 1 by those who reprove severely, 2 and those who recite Our revelations, 3 Indeed your God is surely only One. 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth, and all that is between them, and Lord of every point of the sun's risings. (None has the right to be worshipped but Allah). 5 We have indeed adorned the lowest heaven with stars as ornaments. 6 And have placed therein a guard against any satan froward. 7 (So) they should not strain their ears in the direction of the Exalted Assembly but be cast away from every side, 8 Outcast, and theirs is a constant (or painful) torment. 9 Except him who snatches off but once, then there follows him a brightly shining flame. 10 So ask them, are they stronger in constitution, or those whom We have created. We have created them of sticky clay. 11 Nay! you wonder while they mock, 12 And heed not when they are reminded, 13 And seek to scoff when they behold a portent. 14 And say: "This is only magic. 15 When we have become dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then verily be raised? 16 And our forefathers [as well]?" 17 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Yes, and you shall then be humiliated." 18 for that [resurrection which they deride] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry - and then, lo! they will begin to see [the truth] 19 And they shall say: O woe to us! this is the day of requital. 20 This is the Day of Separation, which ye used to deny. 21
