(Muhammad), recall Our servant Job. When he prayed to his Lord saying, "Satan has afflicted me with hardship and torment," 41 (Allah said to him): "Strike the ground with your foot: This is a spring of water to wash in, cool and a (refreshing) drink." 42 And We granted to him his family and also the like of them, as a mercy from Us, and as a reminder to people of understanding, 43 "And take in thy hand a little grass, and strike therewith: and break not (thy oath)." Truly We found him full of patience and constancy. How excellent in Our service! ever did he turn (to Us)! 44 Remember Our servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob -- possessors of strength and vision. 45 We gave them this pure distinction because of their continual remembrance of the Day of Judgment. 46 And in Our sight, they are indeed the chosen ones, the beloved. 47 Also, remember our worshipers Ishmael, Elisha, and ThulKifl, they are among the good. 48 This is a Remembrance; and for the godfearing is a fair resort, 49 Gardens of Eden with gates open wide to them, 50 Reclining therein, calling therein for many fruits and drink. 51 ۞ With companions of modest look, the same in age, by their side. 52 This is the promise being given to you, for the Day of Reckoning. 53 Indeed this is Our sustenance, which will never end. 54 This is for the virtuous; and indeed for the rebellious is a wretched destination. 55 Hell, which they will [enter to] burn, and wretched is the resting place. 56 (They will be told), "This is your recompense. 57 and other such torments. 58 Their leaders will be told, "This band will also be thrown headlong with you into hell." Their leaders will exclaim, "May condemnation fall upon them! Let them suffer the torment of fire". 59 [And] they [who had been seduced] will exclaim: "Nay, but it is you! No welcome to you! It is you who have prepared this for us: and how vile a state to abide in!" 60 They will say: "O Lord, give him who has brought this upon us two times more the torment of Hell;" 61 And they will say: "What is the matter with us that we see not men whom we used to count among the bad ones?" 62 Did we laugh at them (for nothing), or our eyes fail to pick them out?" 63 Verily all this is true. This is how the inmates of the Fire will dispute among themselves. 64
