▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ NAY, I call to witness the coming-down in parts [of this Qur'an] 75 and, behold, this is indeed a most solemn affirmation, if you but knew it! 76 That this is indeed the glorious Qur'an 77 Kept in a secure Book. 78 which none but the pure may touch; 79 A Revelation (this Quran) from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 80 How can you regard this discourse with disdain? 81 And make it your provision that ye should belie it? 82 Then why do ye not (intervene) when (the soul of the dying man) reaches the throat,- 83 the while you are helplessly watching that he is on the verge of death, 84 We are closer to him than you, even though you cannot see? 85 why, then, if [you think that] you are not truly dependent [on Us,] 86 do you not restore his soul, if you are truthful? 87 Then if he be of the broughtnigh. 88 Then is relief, and flowers – and Gardens of peace. 89 and if he is of those who are on the Right, 90 'Peace be upon thee, Companion of the Right!' 91 But if he be of them that cried lies, and went astray, 92 The welcome will be boiling water 93 And burning in Hell-Fire. 94 Most surely this is a certain truth. 95 So glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. 96
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
