The Column (Al-Suff)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth declares the glory of Allah; and He is the Mighty, the Wise. 1 Believers, why do you preach what you do not practice? 2 Most hateful it is with Allah that you say that which you do not do. 3 Verily, Allah loves those who fight in His Cause in rows (ranks) as if they were a solid structure. 4 And [mention, O Muhammad], when Moses said to his people, "O my people, why do you harm me while you certainly know that I am the messenger of Allah to you?" And when they deviated, Allah caused their hearts to deviate. And Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people. 5 And remember, Jesus, the son of Mary, said: "O Children of Israel! I am the messenger of Allah (sent) to you, confirming the Law (which came) before me, and giving Glad Tidings of a Messenger to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmad." But when he came to them with Clear Signs, they said, "this is evident sorcery!" 6 And who does greater evil than he who forges against God falsehood, when he is being called unto surrender? And God guides never the people of the evildoers. 7 They wish to put out Allah’s light with their mouths, whereas Allah will perfect His light even if the disbelievers get annoyed. 8 it is He who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the true religion, so that He may cause it to prevail over all religions, however much the polytheists may dislike it. 9
