No! By the moon 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 Warn the men. 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 About the criminals, 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 But they will not remember except as God wills: He is worthy to be feared, and He is worthy of forgiving 56
