He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 when the blind came to him. 2 How canst thou know, whether haply he might be cleansed, 3 Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? 4 As for him who thinketh himself independent, 5 you attend to him, 6 though you are not to be blamed if he would not purify himself -- 7 As for him who comes to you striving (after goodness), 8 and in awe [of God] 9 of him you were unmindful. 10 No indeed; it is a Reminder 11 and whosoever wills, shall remember it. 12 On honoured leaves 13 lofty and pure, 14 by the hands of the noble, virtuous, 15 Noble and righteous. 16 Man is (self-)destroyed: how ungrateful! 17 From what stuff hath He created him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm He creates him, and thereupon determines his nature, 19 Then (as for) the way-- He has made it easy (for him) 20 then makes him to die, and buries him, 21 then, He will raise him when He wills. 22 Not one – he has not yet completed what he was commanded. 23 So man must look at his food. 24 how We pour down rain in abundance, 25 Then We split the earth properly. 26 Then We cause to grow therein the grain, 27 And grapes and green fodder 28 And olive-trees and palm-trees 29 the densely tree'd gardens, 30 and fruit and pastures, 31 (These are made so as to be) means of enjoyment for you and your cattle. 32 At length, when there comes the Deafening Noise,- 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 mother, father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 every man that day shall have business to suffice him. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 laughing, joyous; 39 And other faces, on that day, with dust upon them, 40 and covered by darkness. 41 these, these will be the ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity! 42
