The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 The piercing star! 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
