Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 Verily the promise made to you is true: 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 Turned aside therefrom (i.e. from Muhammad SAW and the Quran) is he who is turned aside (by the Decree and Preordainment of Allah). 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 and would pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts; 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
