Did you (O Muhammad SAW) observe him who turned away (from Islam). 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 and that it is He who creates the two kinds - the male and the female 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
