Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O thou folded in garments! 1 Stand up for worship during the night, except for some part of it. 2 (Worship Him) for more or less than half of the night 3 Or a little more, and recite the Qur'an slowly and distinctly. 4 Indeed We shall soon ordain a heavy responsibility upon you. 5 [and,] verily, the hours of night impress the mind most strongly and speak with the clearest voice, 6 You have by day prolonged occupations [with Dawah work]. 7 And remember the Name of thy Lord, and devote thyself unto Him very devoutly. 8 He is the Lord of the East and the West; there is no god except Him. Take Him for your Guardian. 9 And be patient over what they say and avoid them with gracious avoidance. 10 And leave Me and the rejecters, the possessors of ease and plenty, and respite them a little. 11 We have fetters (for them) and a blazing fire, 12 food which chokes (them), and a painful torment. 13 On the Day when the earth with all its mountains quake and the mountains become heaps of shifting sand. 14 Verily, We have sent to you (O men) a Messenger (Muhammad SAW) to be a witness over you, as We did send a Messenger [Musa (Moses)] to Fir'aun (Pharaoh). 15 But Pharaoh disobeyed Our Messenger, so We seized him with a terrible seizing. 16 How, then, will you guard yourselves, if you disbelieve, on the day which shall make children grey-headed? 17 The Day when the heavens will be rent asunder and God's promise shall be fulfilled. 18 Surely this is a Reminder; so let him who will take unto his Lord a way. 19
