Nay! By the moon 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 we fed not the needy, 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
