Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
