And recite to them the news of Ibrahim. 69 When he said to his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said, 'We serve idols, and continue cleaving to them. 71 He said, “Do they hear you when you call?” 72 Or do they profit you or cause you harm? 73 They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus." 74 He said: 'Have you considered what you worship, 75 "Ye and your fathers before you?- 76 “They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.” 77 Who created me, then He has shown me the way: 78 and Himself gives me to eat and drink, 79 And heals me when I am sick, 80 And Who causeth me to die, then giveth me life (again), 81 And who, I hope, will condone my faults on the Day of Judgement. 82 “My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity.” 83 "Grant me honourable mention on the tongue of truth among the latest (generations); 84 And put me among the inheritors of Paradise. 85 and forgive my father; for he is one of the misguided; 86 And disgrace me not on the day when they are raised 87 the Day on which neither wealth will be of any use, nor children, 88 except what is done in obedience to God with a submissive heart. 89 And the Garden will be brought nigh for those who ward off (evil). 90 and Hell advanced for the perverse. 91 they will be asked, "Where are those whom you worshipped 92 "'Besides Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?' 93 So they shall be thrown down into it, they and the erring ones, 94 and the hosts of Iblis - all together. 95 Disputing among themselves they will say: 96 By Allah! we were certainly in manifest error, 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 "'And our seducers were only those who were steeped in guilt. 99 Now we have none to intercede for us, 100 and no sincere friend. 101 (Alas!) If we only had a chance to return (to the world), we shall truly be among the believers! 102 Verily there is a sign in this, but many of them do not believe. 103 surely, your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 104
