Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 And those who distribute it by command, 4 Verily that wherewith ye are threatened is surely true. 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 In the earth there is evidence (of the Truth) for those who have strong faith. 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur'an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
