Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 the Judgement will surely come to pass -- 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded. 9 Accursed be the conjecturers 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 and would pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts; 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
