The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Mount, 1 and the Book inscribed 2 in a parchment unrolled, 3 by the much-visited House, 4 and the uplifted roof 5 And by the Ocean filled with Swell;- 6 Verily, the Doom of thy Lord will indeed come to pass;- 7 No one can avert it. 8 On the day when the heavens will swiftly fly 9 and the mountains shudder and shake. 10 Will be the day of woe for those 11 and amuse themselves with vain argumentation. 12 The day they are dragged and pushed into Hell, 13 “This is the Hell which you used to give the lie to.” 14 Is this magic, or do ye not see? 15 [Enter to] burn therein; then be patient or impatient - it is all the same for you. You are only being recompensed [for] what you used to do." 16 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in Gardens (Paradise), and Delight. 17 talking of what they have received from their Lord and of how their Lord has saved them from the torment of hell. 18 They will be told, "Eat and drink to your heart's delight for what you have done". 19 Reclining on couches ranged. And We shall couple them with maidens wide eyed. 20 And those who believe and whose offspring follow them in Faith, to them shall We join their offspring, and We shall not decrease the reward of their deeds in anything. Every person is a pledge for that which he has earned. 21 And We shall provide them with fruit and meat, such as they desire. 22 There they pass from hand to hand a cup wherein is neither vanity nor cause of sin. 23 ۞ Round about them will serve, (devoted) to them, young male servants (handsome) as Pearls well-guarded. 24 And one of them turned towards the other, questioning. 25 They will say: "Aforetime, we were not without fear for the sake of our people. 26 and God was gracious to us, and guarded us against the chastisement of the burning wind; 27 We had prayed to Him; He is Kind and All-merciful". 28
