NAY, but consider the moon! 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 As they were frightened asses 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 Nay, but they do not [believe in and hence, do not] fear the life to come. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
