The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Where then are you going? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
