Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Have you heard the story of the overwhelming event (the Day of Judgment)? 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 in a Garden on high, 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 raised couches, 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 well-placed cushions, 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 Do they not then ponder how the clouds were formed; 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And the earth, how it was spread out? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
