The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

I swear by the runners breathing pantingly, 1 then raise sparks of fire (by their hoofs), 2 Then those charging in the morning 3 And raise the dust in clouds the while, 4 And penetrate forthwith into the midst (of the foe) en masse;- 5 Most surely man is ungrateful to his Lord. 6 And to that (fact) he bears witness (by his deeds); 7 And violent is he in his love of wealth. 8 ۞ Does he not know,- when that which is in the graves is scattered abroad 9 And what is in the breasts is made apparent? 10 Surely their Lord will be aware of their (deeds). 11

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
