No! By the moon 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 Of evil-doers: 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
