In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 For what day is it timed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 and place it in a secure place 21 until an appointed time? 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
