The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the night, when it envelops, 1 and by the day when it unveils. 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 you strive in various ways. 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 And gives the lie to the best,- 9 We will ease him toward difficulty. 10 nor will his wealth profit him when he falls [into the pit]. 11 Indeed, Guidance is Ours, 12 And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present. 13 I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. 14 whereat none but the most wretched shall be roasted, 15 The one who denied and turned away. 16 And avoid it shall the most pious, 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 not as payment for favours received, 19 Except only the desire to seek the Countenance of his Lord, the Most High; 20 and such, indeed, shall in time be well-pleased. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
