The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers. 176 Recall, when Shuayb said to them: "Have you no fear? 177 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 And I do not ask you any reward for it, my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 180 ۞ "Give just measure, and cause no loss (to others by fraud). 181 and weigh with the straight balance, 182 and diminish not the goods of the people, and do not mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 And guard against (the punishment of) Him who created you and the former nations. 184 Said they: "Thou art but one of the bewitched, 185 And thou art but a human being like unto us, and we deem thee to be of the liars. 186 "So cause a piece of the heaven to fall on us, if you are of the truthful!" 187 He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do." 188 And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day. 189 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 190 And most surely your Lord is Mighty, the Merciful. 191
