In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Cloaked one, 1 Arise and warn, 2 Glorify your Lord, 3 cleanse your clothes, 4 And stay away from idols. 5 and bestow not favour in order to seek from others a greater return, 6 and be patient unto thy Lord. 7 And when the trumpet is blown, 8 That Day will be a difficult day 9 Not of ease, for disbelievers. 10 Leave Me alone with he whom I created 11 and to whom I have granted resources in abundance, 12 and children as [love's] witnesses, 13 and for whom I have smoothed the way (to power and riches), 14 and yet, he greedily desires that I give yet more! 15 By no means; he is stubbornly opposed to Our Signs. 16 I will constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 For he had thought and calculated. 18 But may he be cursed how he plotted; 19 yea, he destroys himself, the way he meditates! 20 Then looked he, 21 Then frowned he and showed displeasure. 22 Then turned he away in pride 23 Then he said: "This is nothing but magic from that of old; 24 This is naught else than speech of mortal man. 25 Anon shall I roast him into the Scorching Fire. 26 What will let you know what the Scorching is like! 27 It lets nothing remain and leaves nothing [unburned], 28 it scorches the skin; 29 there are nineteen [angels] in charge of it -- 30 We have appointed only angels to be wardens of the Fire, and their number have We made to be a stumbling-block for those who disbelieve; that those to whom the Scripture hath been given may have certainty, and that believers may increase in faith; and that those to whom the Scripture hath been given and believers may not doubt; and that those in whose hearts there is disease, and disbelievers, may say: What meaneth Allah by this similitude?
