The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
