The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the Event (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) befalls. 1 There is, at its occurrence, no denial. 2 It will abase some and exalt others. 3 When the earth is shaken with convulsion 4 and the mountains crumbled, 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 And ye are classes three. 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 9 And those who surpassed have indeed excelled. 10 Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 A number of people from those of old, 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 On lined couches, 15 Reclining thereon, face to face. 16 Immortal youths will wait upon them 17 Cups and decanters, beakers full of sparkling wine, 18 They shall not be affected with headache thereby, nor shall they get exhausted, 19 And with fruit from that which they choose. 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And gorgeous eyed fair maidens. 22 Like pearls safely hidden. 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear therein any vain or sinful talk, 25 Nought but the saying: peace! peace! 26 And the fellows on the right hand; how be happy shall the fellows on the right hand be! 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 And clustered plantains, 29 and spreading shade 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 and fruits abounding 32 undiminished and never denied 33 And exalted thrones. 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), - 36 Loving (their husbands only), equal in age. 37 For the fellows on the right hand. 38

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
