The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And the breath of morning 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 where then are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
