The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By heaven of the constellations, 1 and by the promised Day, 2 and by the witness and what is witnessed: 3 The companions of the pit were killed 4 the makers of the fuel-stoked fire! 5 When they sat by it, 6 and they were witnesses of what they did to the believers 7 And they persecuted them for naught save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy 8 to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and earth. And Allah is the Witness of all things. 9 Indeed those who troubled the Muslim men and Muslim women, and then did not repent – for them is the punishment of hell, and for them is the punishment of fire. 10 Verily, those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). That is the great success. 11 The grip of your Lord is severe indeed! 12 It is verily He who initiates and repeats. 13 and He is the All-forgiving, the All-loving, 14 Honorable Owner of the Throne, 15 The Doer of whatever He wants. 16 Did the story of the armies reach you? 17 Of the Fir'awn and the Thamud? 18 The unbelievers are indeed engaged in denying it, calling it a lie, 19 And Allah encompasses them from behind! (i.e. all their deeds are within His Knowledge, and He will requite them for their deeds). 20 In fact it (what they deny) is the Noble Qur’an. 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
