Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 Then shall he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward- 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 and that it is He who creates the two kinds - the male and the female 45 from a drop of sperm when it was emitted, 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Stars (Al-Najm). Sent down in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
