▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ Nay, I swear by the places of the stars - 75 And verily, that is indeed a great oath, if you but know. 76 That (this) is indeed a noble Qur'an 77 in a hidden Book 78 which none but the pure may touch; 79 a sending down from the Lord of all Being. 80 Would you, now, look down with disdain on a tiding like this, 81 and make it your daily bread [as it were] to call the truth a lie? 82 Why, then, when the soul of the dying man reaches the throat, 83 And you at that time look on-- 84 And We are nearer to it than you, but you do not see-- 85 why, then, if [you think that] you are not truly dependent [on Us,] 86 can you not cause that [ebbing life] to return - if what you claim is true? 87 Then if he be of the broughtnigh. 88 there shall be calmness and ease, a Garden of Delight. 89 And if he was of the companions of the right, 90 Then there is safety and peace (from the Punishment of Allah) for (you as you are from) those on the Right Hand. 91 And if he be of the beliers, the erring, 92 a welcome of burning despair [awaits him in the life to come,] 93 And roasting at hell-fire. 94 Most surely this is a certain truth. 95 So exalt the Name of your Lord, the Great. 96
God the Almighty always says the truth.
