I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 In Gardens they will question 40 About the guilty: 41 "What has caused you to enter Hell?" 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 we fed not the needy, 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 As if they were startled donkeys - 50 running away from a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
