Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
HAS NEWS OF the Overpowering Event reached you? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In a Garden on high, 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 and couches raised high, 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 and arranged cushions 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And the earth – how it has been spread out? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
