And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 The honest Spirit (Gabriel) brought it down 193 To (communicate) to your heart that you may be a warner 194 It has been revealed in plain Arabic. 195 This is (indicated) in the Books of earlier people. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned men of the Israelites know it? 197 And if We had revealed it (this Quran) unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 who would have read it to them, they (pagans) would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused this [message] to pass [unheeded] through the hearts of those who are lost in sin: 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 that will come upon them [on resurrection,] all of a sudden, without their being aware [of its approach]; 202 and they will say, 'Shall we be respited?' 203 Seek haste then they with our torment? 204 What do you see? If We gave them enjoyment for years, 205 And then what they were promised comes upon them, 206 of what avail would their past enjoyment be to them? 207 And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners 208 as a reminder from Us: We are never unjust. 209 The satans did not bring down this (Clear Book), 210 nor does it behove them, nor does it lie in their power. 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 Hence, [O man,] do not invoke any other deity side by side with God, lest thou find thyself among those who are made to suffer [on Judgment Day]. 213 And O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), warn your closest relatives. 214 And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers. 215 And if they (thy kinsfolk) disobey thee, say: Lo! I am innocent of what they do. 216 And put thy trust on the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,- 217 Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer), 218 and [sees] thy behaviour among those who prostrate themselves [before Him]: 219 Verily! He, only He, is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every lying (one who tells lies), sinful person. 222 Who gives ear (to the devils and they pour what they may have heard of the unseen from the angels), and most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, only those who go astray follow them. 224 Have you not seen how they wander in every valley, 225 And that they say that which they do not? 226 Except those who believe and do the right, and remember God a great deal, who retaliate only when they have been wronged. Yet the oppressors will now come to know through what reversals they will be overthrown! 227
