Al-Najm 3 of 3
Have you seen the one who turned away 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Hath he not been told of that which is in the writs of Musa. 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 and that He Himself created the two sexes: male and female, 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 And that He destroyed the first [people of] 'Aad 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 And the people of Nuh (Noah) aforetime, verily, they were more unjust and more rebellious and transgressing [in disobeying Allah and His Messenger Nuh (Noah)]. 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 This (Muhammad SAW) is a warner (Messenger) of the (series of) warners (Messengers) of old. 56 The Imminent is near at hand; 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
