In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O thou enveloped in thy cloak, 1 Arise, and warn. 2 And thy Sustainer's greatness glorify! 3 And your clothing purify 4 And pollution shun. 5 And do not through giving seek thyself to gain, 6 For the sake of thy Lord, be patient! 7 For when the trumpet shall sound, 8 that Day will be a hard and distressing Day. 9 Dolorous for the unbelievers. 10 Let Me alone with him whom I created lonely. 11 And then granted him resources in abundance. 12 and sons ever present with him, 13 To whom I made (life) smooth and comfortable! 14 And who yet coveteth that shall increase. 15 No! Thus does Allah make err whom He pleases, and He guides whom He pleases, and none knows the hosts of your Lord but He Himself; and this is naught but a reminder to the mortals. 31
